We integrated VLC media player directly into Torrent RT. And this means that now you can stream media files directly to your Chromecast. What’s even better, you don’t even need to download files completely to start watching them on Chromecast, streaming works with Chromecast too!

Another update was published in Microsoft store. In this update we significantly improved Metadata more support, and added support for more search providers. Now Torrent RT support 528 search providers. If a torrent file exists in internet, Torrent RT should be able to find it!

This was the biggest update since the launch of Torrent RT. We not only rebuilt downloading engine, but also introduced UTP support to make sure that torrents that are only available from UTP peers also can be downloaded.

Microsoft removed Torrent RT FREE Plus from Windows Store. This is ridiculous, app was in a store for over 5 years, was downloaded over 1.5 million times, and more than 6 thousands people purchased an upgrade. We got multiple complaints from people not able to restore app with purchased upgrade, and contacted Microsoft asking to resolve this. We did a major revamp for search feature. Torrent RT now offers a super powerful search engine that allows searching about 400!!! torrent trackers in 20 languages. No other BitTorrent client can do that now.

Today we released a major update we have been working on for a long time. We got a lot of feedback regarding quality for search, and that some search providers are broken pretty often. This should not be a problem anymore!

Throughout last 2 weeks both torrentz.eu and kickass torrent were shut down. We relied on those services to provide search functionality for Torrent RT and Torrent Search PRO. Therefore search won’t work for these providers anymore. You can still use other providers for search in Torrent Search PRO app, and for Torrent RT we are working on replacement. Sorry for inconvenience.

We pleased to announce that today we have released yet another version of our app. Meet Torrent RT FREE Plus. We had some complaints that Torrent RT FREE does not support background option. With Torrent RT FREE you can enable it through in app purchase. It also remove ads and makes application functionally equivalent to Torrent RT.02/19/2016
Few users have complained that all search providers except torrentz have been removed from Torrent RT for Windows 10. The reason is that we had to migrate application to Windows 10 infrastructure due to some bugs with background mode. Besides for Windows 10 we have access to more capabilities, like opening download folder in Windows Explorer.
But unfortunately Microsoft does not support F# for Windows 10 apps, and our search logic is coded in F#. We could migrate that code to C#, but that is a lot of work. Meanwhile please use Torrent Search PRO app if you need to search providers others than torrentz. As soon as F# become available for Windows 10, we’ll add all providers back. And we also plan to add more providers and do combined search. Sorry for bad experience, hope we’ll be able to fix it soon.

We have just learned that Torrent RT ended up available on Windows Mobile. We didn’t optimize it for Mobile platform yet, and therefore we removed it from Mobile listings. Sorry if you have downloaded or purchased it already. On the bright side, we plan to make it available for Mobile eventually.

Recently we have figured out that there are issues with torrentz search provider. It looks like it works, but torrent might stay in Metadata mode forever, and even when switched to Downloading state speed might not be the best. We have fix for this issue and going to release it soon. Meanwhile please don’t use torrentz search provider. Sorry for inconvenience.

We not only added few more popular search providers for your convenience, but also improved quality and made sure that search works in all countries now. Two years ago we started working on Torrent RT, and now according to Windows Store it is the most popular BitTorrent client for Windows 8/8.1/RT. In fact paid version or Torrent RT is number 3 in Windows Store under category tools, and free version is in top 10 and have been here for about a year. New version is out. In this release we added download queue support, decreased time necessary for Torrent RT to load torrents. And thanks to Mihai Adrian now Torrent RT is available in Romanian language. Se bucura!

After long development cycle we finally released a major upgrade for Torrent RT and Torrent RT FREE today. Some people complained about slow download speeds. And indeed we identified few edge cases when Torrent RT could not find enough peers in order to provide good download speed. This should not be an issue anymore, as we added multi torrent tracker support. Starting from this release Torrent RT would query all trackers defined in torrent file in order to discover as many peers as possible. You can even check how many peers each tracker reports to Torrent RT on a Trackers page. Enjoy blazingly fast download speeds with Torrent RT!!!

Today Torrent RT turns one year old! One year ago first version was published in Windows Store. It was the only usable BitTorrent client which worked on Windows RT platform at that time. Happy Birthday Torrent RT.

We had to temporary remove Search and Background download features, to prevent application from crashing on Windows 8.1. Finally everything is fixed now, and all features are back on. Once again, sorry for inconvenience this has caused. We learned lesson the hard way, and it should never happen again.

Today is our first anniversary. One year ago Surface RT was still missing BitTorrent client and it seemed that nobody was interested to create one. Our small team decided that this should change, and we started experimenting with BitTorrent protocol. It was not clear at that time if it is feasible to implement BitTorrent client using limited WinRT API, or even if Microsoft would allow it to go through certification process. Luckily for us, it worked out, and now world has Torrent RT. Enjoy power of BitTorrent on Windows RT devices!!!

After long development phase we finally released V10 of Torrent RT and Torrent RT FREE to Windows Store. Added new experimental feature – ability to stream video and audio files while download is still in progress. For now, mp3 and mp4 files can be streamed just fine, we plan to support more protocols in next releases. Also added native support for Windows 8.1, which could take advantage of platform performance improvements.

In this release we took time to improve quality of Torrent RT. You can download updated version in Windows Store. Following issues were fixed:
– Some people reported problems with enabling background download, it should work now
– Fixed issue with limited upload speed
– Fixed issue with torrents hanging in stopping mode
– Fixed issue with finding peers on resuming torrent download after application restart
– Some other minor issues

Torrent RT FREE is updated. Now you can search 30+ torrent trackers without leaving application. Even more, Torrent RT is integrated into Windows search infrastructure and you can initiate torrents search without explicitly running application. Few other useful features are added including ability to change background picture.
